If you’ve got a vacation scheduled in California and you aren’t sure where to go, here are a few of the many sights to see in Palm Springs to get you started:
-
Thousand Palms Oasis Preserve
If you’re looking to explore some natural beauty during your trip, look no further than the Thousand Palms Oasis Preserve! Located within the larger Coachella Valley Preserve just outside of Palm Springs, this stretch of land plays host to over 25 miles of hiking trails. You can stop at the visitor’s center to pick up a map of the trails before heading out, and you can even join one of the guided tours offered by volunteers. Best of all, entrance to the park is free of charge! -
Palm Springs Air Museum
If you’d rather escape the California heat, try the Palm Springs Air Museum! This impressive museum is home to a large number of vintage, authentic aircraft from World War II, as well as from the Korean and Vietnam Wars. In addition to having dozens of planes on display (including a few that can be toured from the inside), the museum also houses a research library and gift shop. -
The Living Desert
If you love animals, you’ll love The Living Desert! Part-zoo and part-botanical garden, The Living Desert is home to giraffes, camels, meerkats, and many more fun and exciting creatures! While the gardens contain plants native to the area, you can also see many different species from other parts of North America and even Africa. For an added dose of fun, you can pay a small additional fee to feed the giraffes!
